Corpus
Japanese listed companies, from statutory filings only
Every figure on this site comes from documents that Japanese companies are
legally required to file — chiefly the annual securities report (有価証券報告書, yūka shōken hōkokusho)
submitted to the Financial Services Agency through EDINET. No reviews, no self-reported data, no surveys.
Misstatements in these filings carry criminal penalties, which is why we use nothing else.

Two things to know before reading the numbers
- "Average annual salary" covers the filing entity only — usually the parent company on a
non-consolidated basis. Subsidiary employees are excluded. For a pure holding company the figure often
reflects a small head-office staff and can look far higher than the group reality.
- Individual director pay is disclosed only above ¥100m on a consolidated basis. Any statistic
about executive pay therefore covers a minority of companies, skewed towards the highest payers.
