Corpus compiles information on Japanese listed companies using
only documents they are legally required to file. The core source is the annual securities report
(有価証券報告書), filed with the Financial Services Agency and published through EDINET.
Filing a false statement is a criminal offence, which is what makes these figures worth building on.
Sources
EDINET (Financial Services Agency) — annual securities reports, extraordinary reports,
large shareholding reports, tender offer reports. Retrieved through the official API.
e-Stat (Statistics Bureau) — Basic Survey on Wage Structure, used as the peer benchmark
for the salary-vs-benchmark figure.
gBizINFO (METI) — corporate identifiers and official websites. Processed by this site.
J-Quants (JPX Market Innovation & Research) — market capitalisation and financial
summaries, on a roughly 12-week delay (free tier).
Limitations you should know
Average annual salary is the filing entity's figure, usually the parent company on a
non-consolidated basis. Subsidiary employees are not included. Holding companies can look
misleadingly high.
Individual director pay is only disclosed above ¥100m (consolidated). Statistics on
executive pay therefore cover a minority of companies and skew high.
Scores are our own constructs, expressed as deviation values against all listed companies.
They are a statistical position, not a verdict on a company.
This is not investment advice. We present public disclosure; decisions are yours.

agency. Full disclosure of method, disclaimers and privacy policy is in the Japanese edition:
